A two-year-old had to be cut out of a car by firefighters after accidentally locking himself in.

14-month-old Brandon Green managed to activate the central locking of the car as his mum was packing away her shopping in Bude.

Members of the public quickly jumped into help - and called the fire service to help unlock the car.

But despite the drama the toddler remained unfazed - and beamed at his rescuers as they opened the vehicle using small tools.

Mum Kirsty Green later posted on Bude Community Fire Station's Facebook page, thanking the crews for all they did.

Thank you to the amazing guys who rescued my cheeky monkey after locking himself in the car today at Bude Lidl!!

He was clearly traumatised by the whole ordeal.
