Police arrest man after fatal collision in Dartmouth

Police say a 20-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving following a fatal collision in Dartmouth.

Officers say the man, who is from Dartmouth, is currently in custody.

27-year-old Jamie Symons received injuries that proved to be fatal in the incident on Wednesday. His next of kin were informed.

Police say emergency services were called just before 12.40am to a collision between a pedestrian and a vehicle on the A379 College Way between Coronation Park and Townstal Road in Dartmouth.

We are asking the public to contact police urgently with information on a vehicle we are seeking information on.

Anyone who saw a silver/metallic blue Citroen Saxo in the area of Dartmouth on the night of Tuesday 26 September and any time on Wednesday 27 September is asked to contact police quoting log 26 27/09/17.
