A groundbreaking plan to provide more affordable housing to local people in South East Cornwall has taken one step closer.

The Peninsula Trust has put forward a bid to buy three old coastguard cottages in Cawsand so they can rent them out to local people.

This is an area where on one street only 13 of the 62 properties are occupied by locals, the rest are holiday homes.

Cornwall Council wanted to sell the properties and could have got more money on the open market but now they will be used to benefit local people living in the town.
