A Night of Heroes: The Sun Military Awards
A Night of Heroes: The Sun Military Awards, also known as The Millies, are the awards which recognise the excellence and sacrifice made by Britain’s Armed Forces.
Taking place at London’s National Maritime Museum, leading celebrities from film, television, sport and music will attend the gala evening honouring the achievements of our Servicemen and women.  The eight awards will be presented to celebrate outstanding performances and contributions in the military.
The exceptional ceremony, now in its 7th year, is hosted by Phillip Schofield and Amanda Holden.  This year’s awards include Saving Lives, The Firefight, Brothers in Arms, Bomb Hunters, Hero Abroad, Home Front Hero, Support to The Armed Forces and Judges’ Special Recognition Award.
The awards have been judged by a panel, which includes celebrities Jeremy Clarkson, Andy McNab, Lorraine Kelly and Penny Lancaster.
Since inception in 2008 The Millies have become one of the most important events dedicated to honouring the immeasurable contribution made by the Servicemen and women who serve Britain at home and abroad. The lavish star-studded evening has become established in the annual events calendar.
The event has previously been attended by senior members of the Royal Family including The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry.
Amanda Holden said: “The Millies is my opportunity to pay respect to the real life heroes of our armed forces who keep us all safe.  It is a great honour to present such a prestigious show for ITV1 and highlight the amazing work which our service men and women do every single day of the year.”
Phillip Schofield said: “Once a year at The Millies I get chance to stand amongst the most incredible of people that make up the British Armed Forces.  The stories I hear are truly inspiring, heroic and defy belief in the measures they will go to against all odds.  It’s an evening I am incredibly proud to continue to be a part of.”
A Night of Heroes: The Sun Military Awards is produced by Twofour and RDF Television, a Zodiak Media company.
