Series overview

Stephen Mulhern will once again be let loose in towns and cities across the UK challenging the Great British public to take part in hilariously silly games in the popular ‘on the street’ gameshow, In For A Penny.

Nowhere is safe as Stephen will pop up at a host of brand-new locations all over the UK asking shoppers for a penny to take part - there is no contactless on this show.

The people of Great Britain beware, Stephen could be heading to your town – are you ready to open your suitcases, get soaked with water or balance fruit and veg on your body in the hope of winning a cash prize?   The world famous ‘stop watch game’ will also be making a return giving shoppers the chance to bag £1000.

Episode 2

On tonight’s show Stephen heads to Bristol to challenge members of the public to games such as Don’t Rain On My Charade, Mum’s The Word, Pump It Up and the finale, In For A Penny?

In Don’t Rain On My Charade, Stephen will give one member of the pair a charade to act out for their teammate who has to try and guess the answer.  The only catch is, whilst acting out the words, the contestant will have water poured over them from a watering can.  They have until the water run out to guess as many answers correctly.  For each correct answer they’ll win a cash prize.

In Mum’s The Word contestants have to ring their mum and describe a word in just 30 seconds if they guess correctly they win £100, but if they say any of the key words or run out of time and they lose.

In Pump It Up, contestants have to pump the exact amount of petrol they've predetermined to win the cash.  They have just two attempts to hit their target but if they are a penny over or under the amount that they wanted, they have to pay for it themselves.

The popular In For A Penny challenges contestants to five rounds of hilarious games; if they win all five rounds, including the infamous stop-watch game, they bag themselves a whopping £1000.
