Series overview

Created by BAFTA winning writer, Paula Milne, HIM is a new three-part ‘domestic horror’ that focuses on a 17-year-old boy known only throughout the drama as ‘HIM’ who is caught in limbo between childhood and adulthood.

Trapped in emotional flux between the two homes of his divorced parents, each now remarried with new families, ‘HIM’ is the cuckoo in both their nests, a reminder of the failure of their past and a threat to their new-found domestic bliss.

Like any teenager, he is riding a rollercoaster of confusing emotions and finds it hard to process his feelings, but ‘HIM’ has the added complication of a primal struggle to contain the terrifying secret of a supernatural power he has inherited from his grandfather. With only his aging grandmother understanding his gift, ‘HIM’ must fight his anger and frustration to take control and use his powers for good before they end in tragedy.

Starring newcomer Fionn Whitehead, Katherine Kelly, James Murray, Patrick Robinson, Lucy Liemann and Simona Brown, this striking and original drama focuses on life’s major themes: the painful breakdown of relationships, love, loss, betrayal and passion. At the heart of the story is HIM’s rite of passage from boyhood to manhood as he struggles not to lose his humanity and control his supernatural power.

Episode 2

Having lost control over his powers and nearly destroying his Dad’s (James Murray) house, HIM’s parents struggle to work out what is best for their son, whilst he continues to fight his feelings for stepsister, Faith (Simona Brown).

As HIM and Faith become closer, their relationship is pushed to the limits, putting an extra strain on HIM’s emotional state and threatening to have devastating consequences. Will HIM be able to contain how he feels for her, knowing she is off-limits?

Meanwhile, when a visit to his Grandmother (Susan Jameson) reveals some unnerving truths about his inherited abilities and what happened to his Grandfather, he fears the worst. Turning to his therapist, Ross (Alec Newman), for help, HIM searches for answers and agrees to take part in some tests. Will this help him uncover the truth?
