Save Money: My Beautiful Green Home

Save Money: My Beautiful Green Home is an uplifting three-part series which taps into our global obsession with property and the emotional, creative and practical journey renovating our homes takes us all on.

In the series journalist Ranvir Singh will be showing us all how we can achieve the green dream without breaking the bank. She will be following three families as they renovate and retrofit their traditional homes into beautiful eco environments with expert guidance and advice from property expert, designer and sustainable build campaigner Kunle Barker.

In addition, Ranvir will be blown away when she meets the owners and architects of some of the nation’s most trailblazing eco-builds. Each episode features two of the UK’s most cutting edge properties that will not only dazzle and impress, but will also explain each of us, by making changes to go greener at home however big or small, can save money and save the planet into the bargain.

Funded by Nationwide, in an agreement brokered by Wavemaker and produced by Twofour, Save Money: My Beautiful Green Home promises to delight and demystify all things eco-build so we can all do our bit to help the planet, have lovely homes and save money into the bargain.

Episode 3

In this final episode to coincide with the launch of COP-26, Ranvir and Kunlee travel to meet eco-enthusiasts Rachel and Jake in Cambridgeshire. They are 10 months into transforming their 1960s three-bedroom house into an energy efficient sustainable eco-home. With the majority of the green build done, Kunle offers up his design experience to tackle their open plan kitchen and living room, which they’ve ambitiously moved up to the first floor to maximise spectacular views and to harness the solar power of the sun. For eco inspiration, Ranvir heads to Greenend House, an underground house in Buckinghamshire.
