Episode 4

In every household right across Britain, food and drink is one of our biggest weekly outgoings. In Save Money: Good Diet, Sian Williams and chef Phil Vickery investigate how we can spend less and get super tasty, healthy food.

This week we continue our countdown of our top 10 favourite family dishes and challenge Phil Vickery to wow us with his own super healthy, low cost and of course mouth-watering version. This week Phil takes on two recipes - which delicious dish will claim number six and number five in our countdown this week?

Sian investigates what’s money well spent in our shopping baskets – this week she and dietician Liz Fleming lift the lid on kids’ lunchboxes to see what really goes into them and how much sugar they contain. Can they create a healthier, cheaper lunch box which is still tasty and fun but contains less sugar?

Nutrition Therapist Ian Marber looks at breakfast cereals to give his guide to the best and worst of the best sellers.

And we’ll be asking, is it possible to get a taste of luxury at affordable prices? This time it’s that summer high tea favourite - macarons. Our group of trusty taste testers will take part in a blind taste test of two award-winning products, one significantly cheaper than the other. Which will get their taste buds tingling?
