For The Love of Britain

Series overview

The series is 10 x 30 minute episodes for ITV, narrated by Julie Walters and featuring contributions from Julia Bradbury, Robson Green, Liz Bonnin, Ade Edmondson, Katherine Kelly, Ore Oduba, Sheila Hancock, Gino D’Acampo and Ben Fogle, amongst many others.

For The Love of Britain is a new series in which Julie Walters invites us to take a great escape into our great outdoors.

Britain - the majestic isle we call home - is made up of some gloriously varied landscapes. Sitting within those landscapes are the cherished places we never tire of and plenty of hidden gems many of us are yet to discover. For The Love of Britain provides a guide to both, taking us on a journey through all that’s truly great about our country.

With the help of some familiar faces, the series explores the length and breadth of the nation, with each episode focussing on a different part of the UK. From our lakes, to our peaks and our sweeping coastline, viewers will be guided through our green and pleasant island home... from those who both live in it and love it.

Episode 4 - Yorkshire

Narrated by Julie Walters, the programme invites us to take a great escape into our great outdoors, unearthing our country’s hidden gems as well as exploring its most celebrated treasures.. In this episode we visit the place locals call ‘God’s own county’, Yorkshire.

Julia Bradbury follows in the footsteps of one of our most famous literary families, the Brontes, exploring the windswept moors. Robson Green sings shanties in the seaside resort of Whitby. Ore Oduba hits the challenging Coast to Coast walking trail near the market town of Richmond. And deep in the Dales, Ade Edmondson will be our guide on the Malham Circuit, one Yorkshire’s best-loved hikes.
