Series overview

The series is 10 x 30 minute episodes for ITV, narrated by Julie Walters and featuring contributions from Julia Bradbury, Robson Green, Liz Bonnin, Ade Edmondson, Katherine Kelly, Ore Oduba, Sheila Hancock, Gino D’Acampo and Ben Fogle, amongst many others.

For The Love of Britain is a series in which Julie Walters invites us to take a great escape into our great outdoors.

Britain - the majestic isle we call home - is made up of some gloriously varied landscapes. Sitting within those landscapes are the cherished places we never tire of and plenty of hidden gems many of us are yet to discover. For The Love of Britain provides a guide to both, taking us on a journey through all that’s truly great about our country.

With the help of some familiar faces, the series explores the length and breadth of the nation, with each episode focussing on a different part of the UK. From our lakes, to our peaks and our sweeping coastline, viewers will be guided through our green and pleasant island home... from those who both live in it and love it.

Episode 5 - Dorset

Narrated by Julie Walters, For the Love of Britain invites us to escape into the great outdoors, unearthing our country’s hidden gems as well as exploring its most celebrated treasures.

In this episode, Sheila Hancock revisits the beautiful Dancing Ledge rock pools - and some childhood memories. Martin Kemp visits the fishing village of Mudeford and heads out to see for a very special catch. Liz Bonnin checks in at Portland Bill, home to millions of migrating birds; and Ben Fogle gets the most spectacular sky-high view of the Jurassic coast.
