Series overview

Stephen Mulhern will once again be let loose in towns and cities across the UK challenging the Great British public to take part in hilariously silly games in the popular ‘on the street’ gameshow, In For A Penny.

Nowhere is safe as Stephen will pop up at a host of brand-new locations all over the UK asking shoppers for a penny to take part - there is no contactless on this show.

The people of Great Britain beware, Stephen could be heading to your town – are you ready to open your suitcases, get soaked with water or balance fruit and veg on your body in the hope of winning a cash prize?   The world famous ‘stop watch game’ will also be making a return giving shoppers the chance to bag £1000.

Episode 6

On tonight’s show Stephen heads to Liverpool but how will the public fare when faced with a host of games including Pump It Up, Phone A Fool, Weigh To Go and the finale In For A Penny?

In Pump It Up, contestants have to pump the exact amount of petrol they've predetermined to win the cash.  They have just two attempts to hit their target but if they are a penny over or under they’ll have to pay for it themselves.

In Phone A Fool, the contestant must hope that their friend/relative gets the questions wrong to be in with a chance to win a cash prize.  If the person on the end of the phone answers all three questions incorrectly, they win the cash but answer any correctly and they leave with nothing.

In Weigh To Go, Stephen is at an airport challenging passengers to guess how much their suitcase weighs. If they don’t guess correctly first time, they have just two more chances to add or remove items from their suitcase to try and make their case weigh the same as their initial guess.  If they are successful they could win £100.

The popular In For A Penny challenges contestants to five rounds of hilarious games; if they win all five rounds, including the infamous stop-watch game, they bag themselves a whopping £1000.
