All Star Musicals  - panel announced

All Star Musicals today announces its panel of expert critics, an assembly of some of the West End and Broadway’s most celebrated names, each of whom the seven performing celebrities will be aiming to impress as they take to the stage at the London Palladium.

Elaine Paige will be joined by Broadway icon, Tony and Emmy winner Kristin Chenoweth, dance sensation Kevin Clifton and West End star Trevor Dion Nicholas.

As part of the special show, in a world exclusive, stage legends Elaine and Kristin will duet together for the first time.

Tony and Emmy award winning actress and singer Kristin Chenoweth’s career spans film, television, voiceover and stage. She received an Emmy Award for her role in Pushing Daisies, a Tony Award for You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown and was also nominated for her original role of Glinda the Good Witch in the Broadway smash-hit Wicked. Chenoweth has released multiple albums, most recently including The Art of Elegance, and has performed to sold-out audiences across the world.

Kristin said “The world needs more shows like All Star Musicals, and I’m honoured to celebrate the art of musical theatre with all the lucky people who get to watch it on television! I know this experience will be one for the books, and with the one and only Elaine Paige at the helm, it will undoubtedly be the best television special of the year. I count myself very fortunate for this opportunity.”

Kevin is best known for his role on Strictly Come Dancing, and won the most recent series with partner Stacey Dooley. He made his musical theatre debut in Dirty Dancing the Musical and is currently appearing in rock musical Rock of Ages.

Kevin said “When I was asked if I would like to be part of All Star Musicals I was like ‘hell yeah’, but to be asked to be part of the actual judging panel was another level. I am so excited to join the rest of the panellists and being honest, it will be nice to be on the other side of the desk for once.”

Trevor received critical acclaim having originated the role of Genie in the West End production of Disney’s Aladdin, a role he continues to play at the Prince Edward Theatre. He also performed the role on Broadway.

Trevor said “This is the type of show that sparks generations of new performance and theatre loving souls. I could not be more proud to be a piece of something with so much potential to inspire.”

All Star Musicals returns to ITV this Spring, hosted by John Barrowman. The one off show, produced by ITV studios label Shiver, will also feature very special performances from John and all of the panel. As well as being part of the panel, Elaine will also mentor the celebrities as they prepare for their big performance.

All Star Musicals is commissioned by Siobhan Greene, Head of ITV Entertainment, Louise Major, Assistant Commissioner and Peter Tierney, Assistant Commissioner. Executive producers for Shiver are Richard Hastings and Leanne Witcoop and Series Producer is Lewis Thurlow.
