Ballyburn lands Tattersalls Ireland 50th Derby Sale Novice Hurdle

Willie Mullins enjoyed a slew of winners at the Dublin Racing Festival including Ballyburn, whose win in the Tattersalls Ireland 50th Derby Sale Novice Hurdle at Leopardstown put a smile on owner Ronnie Bartlett's face.

Townend was cleared fit after being unseated from Gaelic Warrior in the preceding race and had Ballyburn on top form, stretching his lead having bypassed the final hurdle, omitted due to low sun.

The winning distance was an impressive seven lengths and the victory saw Ballyburn take up the mantle as favourite for the Sky Bet Supreme Novices' Hurdle at Cheltenham in March
