Argentina's Mariano Galarza given nine week ban for eye gouging
The Argentinian lock who was cited for foul play against New Zealand has been handed a nine-week ban.
Mariano Galarza, who has been capped 25 times for the Pumas, was called up by Rugby World Cup Limited (RWCL) for eye-gouging in the clash at Wembley on Sunday and will now miss the rest of the tournament.
The 28-year-old, who plays for Gloucester, was found guilty of contact with the eye or eye area" of his opposite number, Brodie Retallick.
Galarza will be allowed to keep playing on November 26.
