Rugby World Cup venue guide: City of Manchester Stadium
City of Manchester Stadium, Manchester
Built for the 2002 Commonwealth Games, the Manchester City Stadium is now home to Manchester City football club. This is another modern stadium on the list of World Cup venues that are easily accessible for fans and just a stone’s throw from Manchester City centre which will provide fantastic culture and nightlife throughout the week.
The City pitch is no stranger to rugby, it played host to the Commonwealth Games Sevens final where New Zealand claimed gold after beating Fiji.
Surprisingly, there is just one fixture at the stadium although it is sure to draw the crowds, as England face Uruguay in what should be a cricket score.
