The home of English football has hosted Olympic Games, Champions League finals, NFL and even motor sport but there is one major omission – a Rugby World Cup. As this country’s most iconic sporting venue there is doubt that the two fixtures will be a sell-out.
Strangely, Wales have played more rugby at Wembley than England. The famous stadium hosted their fixtures while the Millennium Stadium was being built in the late 1990s.
Wembley has been used as a venue for domestic club rugby to great success, the accessibility of this modern stadium has meant that fans from across the country can easily make their way to one of London’s major landmarks.
