What happens in the app during the show?
During each show we’ll upload all the best content directly in to the app. There’s lots of ways to have your say on the action and react to big moments via the following methods:
• Quick poll – Multiple choice polls during each episode.
• Trivia – Test your Survival Of The Fittest knowledge with fun trivia.
• Predictor – Guess what will happen next.
• Swipe poll - Swipe left or right to rate the Teams.
• Swing-o-meter - Keep tapping your favourite Team Member to rate them and see who everyone else is tapping!
• Ranking Poll - Put our Teams in your personal order of preference, and see what everyone else is thinking
What is the Feed?
The feed has all of the latest action from the Lodge. Get news, exclusive video, take part in polls, predictors and trivia.
What is the swipe poll?
Rate our Team Members on a series of topics throughout the series by swiping left or right on each picture. You will see the current results displayed once you have completed ranking.
The app doesn’t work...
Please check which operating system your device is running.
• iOS - The Survival Of The Fittest app runs on iOS 9 + and above. Please upgrade your operating software if you are using operating software below this.
• Android - The Survival Of The Fittest app runs on versions 4.1 and above. Please update your operating software if you are using an earlier version.
App Voting Registration
If you are having problems registering, please try one of the following steps:
A. In the app go to Explore > More > Restore purchase
B. For Apple devices, ensure your in app purchases are switched on. To do this go to Settings > General > Restrictions > switch on the in app purchases button. NB: all votes you place within the app are free and you will not be charged for votes within the app, or be asked to enter any card details.
C. Try fully closing and reopening the app on your device
To close your app on Apple devices: Double-click the Home button > Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close > Swipe the app up to close it.
To close your app on Android devices: Go to “Settings” then “Application Manager”, scroll down until you find SOTF, tap on it and choose “Force Stop”.

1) How can I vote via the Survival Of The Fittest app?
You can vote by downloading the Survival Of The Fittest app for iOS (iOS 9 or later) or Android (Android 4.1 or later) on your smartphone. Because there are many types of smartphones available, we cannot guarantee the app will work on all smartphones with the correct operating versions specified above.
2) How do I get votes?
If you have the iOS app, when you go into the voting section you will be prompted to authenticate your device using your Apple ID in order to be able to vote. You will only have to do this once per device and you will not be charged. Authentication is done solely to enable you to be able to vote.
With the Android version, authentication occurs automatically.
3) How much does it cost to vote using the app?
It’s free to vote via the app. Data charges may apply, please check with your network provider for details.
What can I vote for?
We are going to need your help in lots of different ways.We may need to you choose who’s at risk or who gets a treat.
Each time we need your help, a new vote event will automatically appear in the app at the bottom of the screen.
How many votes will I get?
You’ll only be able to vote once per voting event per eligible device. A voting event is classed as one complete vote, from when the vote opens until it closes. A voting event could open and close during a show or could last a few hours or even more than a day. If a voting event is open for longer than a day (e.g. Sunday to Monday), users of the app will be limited to one (1) vote per day of the voting event.
Depending on the type of vote, you’ll be asked to do different things. For example, you might be asked vote for a replacement boy or girl to enter the lodge. In every case it will be explained in the app what you need to do for each vote. Once you have tapped ‘Confirm’ you can’t vote again for that particular voting event from that device.
Can I cancel my vote if I made a mistake?
Yes. On any given vote you are given the option to confirm or cancel your vote at the end. Once you have confirmed your vote you cannot cancel or change it.
I have downloaded the app but can’t see anything to vote on?
There are five main reasons why you may be unable to see a voting event:
i No voting events are currently open
Voting events will only appear on eligible devices when they are open.
ii Your device is not eligible
Your devices must be linked to an Apple or Google Play account. You can have a maximum of six devices linked to each Apple or GooglePlay account. Any additional device will not be eligible to vote.
iii Your 3G or internet connection may have dropped
If your device is eligible and you know a vote has started but you can’t see it in your app or submit your vote, your 3G or internet connection may have dropped. Try moving to a different location and then force the app to close:
On Apple devices:
Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the Survival of the Fittest app.
Swipe the app up to close it.
Then re-open the app and the open voting events should now be showing. If not then you can contact ITV Customer Care on 0344881 4150 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
On Android devices:
Go to “Settings” then “Application Manager”. Scroll down until you find “Fittest”, tap on it and choose “Force Stop”
Then re-open the app and open voting events should now be showing. If not then you can contact ITV Customer Care on 0344881 4150 or email email@example.com.
We don’t recommend voting whilst on the move as your signal strength may vary.
iv There has been a technical error
In the unlikely case that a technical error occurs, an information message should appear in the app. If there is no obvious reason for the error please contact ITV Customer Care on 0344 881 4150 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
v You have already voted
You can only submit your vote once on each device per voting event.
Can I use my votes in other programmes?
No. Votes can only be used for the 2018 series of Survival Of The Fittest.
Can I ‘rollover’ votes to other voting events?
No. Each vote is linked to a particular voting event, and can only be used for that event.
Can I move my votes between devices/on to a new device?
You cannot move unused votes between devices.
What happens if I delete the app?
If you delete the app, you can download it again and you will still be able to vote as long as you log back in with the same Apple ID or Google Play account details.
The following cookies are used on the app:
· WelcomeBlock: We use this cookie to remember if you choose "do not show this screen again" on the welcome page.
· Poll: We use this cookie to store graphical states. For instance, when you vote, the icon changes from ‘Vote Open’ to ‘Voted’.
The cookies used by the app have a lifespan that ranges from several minutes to several hours. Some of the cookies are persistent and will never expire.
Blocking or deleting cookies at app level is not possible. However, deleting the app from your device will delete all associated data and cookies.
Is any other information stored from my use of the app?
