Love Island 2019 Vote: Voting Interaction Information
LOVE ISLAND 2019 VOTE: VOTING INTERACTION INFORMATION
Voting method and cost:
Viewers in the UK, Isle of Man and Channel Islands may take part in voting in respect of one or more voting events (each a “voting event” and together the “voting events”) in connection with Love Island and Love Island: Aftersun in 2019 (“Programme”) via the following method:
. App vote: users of Apple mobile devices with iOS for iPhones, iPod Touch, iPads and iPad minis and users of mobile devices with Android may download the latest version of the official Love Island app from the relevant app store (iTunes store or the Google Play store) (the “app”). Download of the app and in-app voting is free although data charges from the user’s network operator may apply. Users of Apple mobile devices will be required to register before being able to vote and should follow the in-app prompts to do so. App users should follow the in-app instructions to vote during each voting event. There is no charge when voting via the app although data charges from the user’s network operator may apply. A vote that has not been used by the end of a voting will be lost and cannot be claimed for use in another voting event.
For Apple users, the Love Island app runs on iOS 9 and upwards. For Android users, the Love Island app runs on Android 4.1 and upwards. Please upgrade your operating system if your compatible mobile device is running on iOSv8 or below or Android 4.3 or below.
If there are technical or other issues with the App votes, the Promoter reserves the right to discount the App votes (as applicable) and announce the result of the vote without including those affected votes.
If for any reason there is a discrepancy between the numbers advertised on air and those given on any other platforms, then the numbers on air will prevail and the vote shall proceed on that basis.
Please note it is not possible to vote via any method not stated in these terms and conditions. The Promoter may, at its sole discretion, withdraw app voting on a temporary or permanent basis.
Voting opens and closes for each voting event as specified on the app, on authorised social media and/or during the Programme.
Users of the app are limited to one (1) vote per voting event on each eligible mobile device, save that where a voting event is open for longer than a day (e.g. Sunday to Monday), users of the app will be limited to one (1) vote per day of the voting event, or two (2) votes per day when the voting event is the Final Love Island Live Show. Users can have a maximum of six (6) devices linked to each Apple or Google account. Any additional mobile device will not be eligible to vote.
The Promoter and/or the producers of the Programme reserve the right to vary the format of a voting event at any time. Any such variation will be announced in the Programme, on the app and/or on authorised social media and such format as announced in the Programme, on the app and/or on authorised social media will prevail.
At various points in the Programme, at the discretion of the Promoter or the Programme producers, there will be a voting event where viewers may vote on which Islander(s) they wish to keep in the competition or which Islander(s) they wish to be eliminated from the competition. In the case of votes to keep Islanders in the competition, the Islander(s) with the lowest number of votes will be eliminated from the competition. In the case of votes to eliminate Islanders from the competition, the Islander(s) with the highest number of votes will be eliminated from the competition. In each case, the elimination format, and any specific terms relating to that particular elimination, will be announced in the applicable on-air interaction information, on authorised social media and/or within the app before voting opens.
The producers of the Programme may in their discretion reintroduce an Islander seen in earlier stages of the competition who was previously evicted. The Programme producers' decision will be final.
The outcome of a voting event will be shown on the app, on authorised social media and/or during the Programme.
During the final episode of the Programme, the couple with the most valid votes will be declared the winners of the competition.
If any of the Islander(s) leave or are removed from the Programme for any reason, including without limitation medical reasons, then the producers of the Programme will in their sole discretion decide whether such Islander(s) will be removed from the vote or the vote may be cancelled and restarted without such Islander(s), having regard to all circumstances and information available to them at the relevant time. The producers of the Programme will in their sole discretion determine if another Islander may be allowed to enter the competition.
If the outcome of a vote cannot be reasonably determined because of a technical failure, a tie, or for any other circumstance beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter, the producers of the Programme, their agents or sub-contractors, then the Promoter and Programme producers may choose (at their sole discretion) that the vote will be cancelled and reopened at a later date; or that the Programme producers will determine the outcome; or that the other Islanders will determine the outcome.
Any decision by the Islanders, the Promoter or the producers of the Programme will be final.
If a voting event is cancelled, then at the Promoter’s and Programme producers’ discretion either the Islander(s) will decide on the outcome of that voting event, or the voting event will be postponed. Any decision by the Islanders, or by the Promoter and Programme producers will be final.
Alternative voting route
Without limiting the above, if there are technical or other issues with the in-app vote, or other circumstance then (at the Promoter’s and Programme producers’ discretion) the voting mechanic may be changed to a paid emergency mobile voice short codes (“MVSC”) for the Final Love Island Live Show. This will involve calling the following 7 (seven) digit number 6505101-20 from a UK mobile telephone which confirms the MVSC vote. Each vote via a UK mobile to a MVSC costs 35 pence. MVSC voting is only available from a mobile phone. It is not possible to vote by calling the MVSC from a landline or via any other method. Call charges may apply if the number mis-dialled is a valid number. The Promoter gives no warranty that the MVSC service will be available, legal or appropriate for use in locations outside the UK.
Viewers voting via MVSC may vote as many times as they like, however the Promoter and the producers of the Programme believe that any votes for one voting event which are received from any one (1) recognised number in excess of six hundred (600) votes are deemed to be designed to manipulate the outcome of the vote and are unfair to other users and other Islanders. On the MVSC platforms (where it is not technically practical to limit the votes) if a viewer votes more than 600 times in respect of one voting event, the Promoter and the Programme producers reserve the right in their sole discretion to disqualify any votes made above the permitted levels having regard to all the circumstances and information available at the relevant time. The Promoter and/or the Programme producers may in their sole discretion contact voters who have voted through the MVSC platforms to an excessive level.
All viewers voting must obtain the bill payer’s permission before voting.
