2020's Powerhouse Performers!

We love nothing more than when the energy of a vocal powerhouse blows the roof off the studio in a Blind Audition on The Voice UK!

From soul to rock, 2020 didn’t disappoint with the big hitters. Let's remind ourselves of the most powerful performers to take to the stage this series.

1. ShezAr

There can be no messing about if you choose to audition with an Aretha Franklin song, and ShezAr more than delivered with her show-stopping version of ‘Pride (A Deeper Love). Labrinth’s sister had the audience on their feet - and the Coaches turning in their chairs - with the London singer choosing Sir Tom to take her through to the Battles after we'd got our collective breath back.

2. Lara George

Not only did Lara impress our Coaches with her belting version of Jess Glynne’s ‘Don’t Be So Hard On Yourself’, there was an emotional reunion as she locked eyes with her old pal Olly! We defy you not to dance around your living room to this audition.

3. Blessing Chitapa

She may only be 17 but Blessing sings way beyond her years, as she proved when she chose an Etta James number for her Blind Audition. Her stunning version of ‘I’d Rather Go Blind’ saw her sail through the Blinds, and straight onto Team Olly.

4. Bleu Woodward

We had an almighty rock out when Bleu Woodward took to the stage, impressing her way into Team Tom with her take on AC/DC’s epic ‘You Shook Me All Night Long’. Air guitars at the ready!

5. Alan Chan

Sticking to the rock theme, we couldn’t possibly not include the one and only Alan Chan in our round up. The dad of three left the Coaches’ mouths open with his wild and energetic version of ‘You Know My Name’ by Chris Cornell.

6. Zindzi Thomas

Zinzdi took to the stage with a serious call to arms. Her version of ‘War Cry’ by Queen Naija could not be ignored by Will - who answered the call and hit his button.

7. Lois Moodie

Anyone willing to tackle a Beyonce song deserves a place in this list, and Lois Moodie came, saw and conquered with her performance of ‘I Was Here’. Her big notes earned not one, but three chair turns from our Coaches, and brought out Tom’s fighting spirit in the pitch. Mic. Drop.

8. Millie Bowell

Sia’s ‘Titanium’ is a seriously big tune, and Millie Bowell more than rose to the occasion to deliver with this mammoth song choice in the final Blind Audition of 2020, taking the very last spot on Team Olly!
