How do you feel when you hear someone chewing, slurping or even breathing? If, like Ruth, it sends you into a total rage, you could be suffering from the neurological condition misophonia.
While many people find certain sounds off-putting or annoying, misophonia causes sufferers to have a disproportionately negative reaction to specific things they hear. But what are its triggers, and how can you treat it?
