Divorce leave scheme backed by big companies
Tesco, Asda and Natwest are among employers who are set to introduce more family-friendly HR policies for staff going through separation.
Under the Positive Parenting Alliance (PPA) scheme, employers will amend HR policies to state that divorce is similar to a family death or serious illness.
In the survey of 200 workers by the Positive Parenting Alliance (PPA) the majority (90%) said their work performance was impacted when they went through a divorce, and 95% said their mental health at work suffered.
Speaking on Morning View, Gyles Brandreth said: '42% of marriages are now set to end. It is undoubtably a tragedy'.
When asked why she thinks marriages are failing, Carol Vorderman added: 'Women now, are far more independent, they can often earn their own money'.
