Dough balls with garlic butter
Serves: makes 24 dough balls
For the dough balls
400g strong white flour plus a little extra for dusting
275ml warm water
5g quick action yeast
For the garlic butter:
2-3 cloves of garlic, crushed into a smooth paste
Salt and pepper
Mix together the flour, salt and yeast and start incorporating the water. Mix in the bowl until the dough starts coming together.
Tip the dough onto a surface and knead for 5-6 mins until the dough forms a nice smooth ball
Leave in a warm place covered in a damp cloth for 40-50 mins until doubled in size
Cut the dough into 20g pieces and shape into small balls, flatten each piece and bring the edges into the centre then turn over and roll into a smooth ball
Place onto a lined baking sheet and leave to prove for a further 30 minutes
Bake in the oven at 190c for 12-15 minutes
Meanwhile make your garlic butter. In a microwavable bowl or a pan melt your butter with 3-4 cloves of crushed garlic. Mix in the salt, pepper and put aside.
