Gok's sticky chicken wings

If you’re in the mood for a takeaway this Friday night, then put down the menu, because Gok’s here to show us how easy it is to create some classic dishes at home. First up is his ideal starter - tasty sticky chicken wings! 

Honey and chilli wings


12-15 chicken wings 

175ml runny honey

4cm grated ginger 

2 cloves garlic grated 

½ tsp chilli flakes

2 tbsp white wine vinegar

1 tbsp lemon juice 

1 tsp grated lemon rind black pepper 

Pinch of salt 

To serve

1 little gem lettuce

1 spring onion, chopped

Small handful of peanuts, crushed


1. Preheat the oven to 200C fan

2. Place the chicken wings into an oven tray and ensure the chicken wings are really dry by patting with a piece of kitchen towel - this will help the wings go really crispy as they bake. Bake these in the oven for 10 minutes

3. Whisk together all the other ingredients in a jug or bowl

4. Remove the chicken from the oven and coat with the glaze using a brush. Put them back in the oven and bake for a further 10 minutes.

5. Serve on gem lettuce and sprinkle with chopped spring onions and crushed peanuts
