I escaped North Korea

When Yeonmi Park escaped the dictatorship of North Korea at the age of 13, she realised she had so much to learn. Brainwashed for her entire life, she knew nothing of love, she didn't know how to express opinions, she had never heard of a bank account. All she knew was how to be loyal to Great Leader Kim Jong Il. Since his death, his son, Kim Jong Un runs the country with the same iron fist.

She joins us on the sofa for her first UK TV interview ahead of her speech at the Women in the World Summit in London this evening. Her new book, In Order To Live, reveals all about her life living under dictatorship.

BOOK: In Order to Live by Yeonmi Park is out now
