'I married the train driver who saved my life'
In August 2019, NHS worker Charlotte Lay reached breaking point. Feeling she had no way forward, she stepped onto the train tracks, hoping to end it all. But fate, or rather a train driver called David, intervened. He managed to bring his train to a halt just in time, got off, sat beside her, talking until she was ready to leave the tracks. Later, Charlotte found him to thank him, sparking a connection that turned into daily messages, then dates, and finally, love. By 2022, Charlotte and David were married, and now share two children. They join us in studio to share their story.
