'I'm struggling to feed my family'
Yesterday, the Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak confirmed that the furlough scheme will be extended across the UK until the end of March - but there are still some who don’t qualify.
As the director of a limited company, wedding photographer Jon Mank has fallen through the cracks of government support schemes.
After struggling to provide for his family, Jon’s 13-year-old son James uploaded a video online begging the Chancellor for help.
Jon joins us today as he implores the government to take action, alongside Alice Beer who will be sharing what options are available to others like Jon.
On being excluded from the government support scheme as the director of a limited company, John says: "It’s taken a 13-year-old boy, in a very innocent way, to make a statement - not just on behalf of myself, because I’m only one voice of three million people, that have been excluded by the government.
"We’re hard-working people, we pay our taxes, do everything legally, and yet for some reason, the government has decided to discriminate against us - deeming us as far too complicated to work out a system."
