‘I’m travelling to Hawaii to spread my hamster’s ashes’
Lisa Murray-Lang’s beloved hamster, Spud, passed away earlier this year. But during his three year and seven month lifetime, it dawned on her that her furry friend was constantly stuck in his cage. So over lockdown, she set out to create lifelike ‘locations’ for him to enjoy, including cardboard versions of London, Paris and even Coronation Street!
However, there was one place that Spud loved best. That’s why she’s embarking on one final trip to Waikiki Beach in Hawaii to scatter his ashes. And this time there’s not a bit of cardboard in sight.
The professional pet sitter said: "I've always had hamsters since the age of about 10 and we've also got four rescue cats and I've volunteered at the local cat sanctuary too so I've always been into animals."
Speaking about the trip to Hawaii, Lisa said: "We are going to leave him in his most favourite place."
