Life with body dysmorphic disorder
Twenty-two-year-old Carla Mark Thompson first felt ugly when she was in primary school. Her self esteem plummeted in the next few years and when she saw her face in the mirror, she thought it was 'the fattest face she had ever seen'.
Eventually diagnosed with body dysmorphic disorder (BDD), things have changed for the better for Carla and over the weekend, she was invited to speak at the Body Dysmorphic Disorder Foundation's first ever conference.
Carla is here to talk us through the nature of this condition, the signs and symptoms of BDD and how to address it.
