Meet the road-schooled Meek family
We didn't make this decision overnight. We thought about it for a long time. Life is too short not to give it a go. We see it as the amount of disposable time we can spend together, rather than the amount of money.
Tim and Kerry Meek took their two daughters out of school last summer, sold their house and quit their jobs to travel around the UK for a year in a caravan. Now they are planning a second year - travelling around Europe.
The couple join us today to explain why, despite being criticised for their unorthodox lifestyle, they insist museums and the great outdoors are all the education their girls need.
Kerry said: "We won the caravan in a competition and that was the trigger. We'd never even been in a caravan before. We allocated a year initially but we've extended it for another year as we're under budget and really enjoying it."
We do miss our friends but we are going back to Nottingham tonight to see them.
