'My ten-year illness meant I couldn't tell my wife I loved her'

Looking at a photograph of bodybuilder James Sutliff, you’d never know anything was wrong - but James’ world came crashing down in 2008 when he was just 23, after he woke up one morning to find he could barely walk or talk.

James was eventually diagnosed with dystonia – a neurological condition which causes muscle spasms and contractions - forcing him to quit his job as a plumber, and making him a prisoner in his own home.

Following years of therapy, James has defied doctors' expectations, and last year finally told his wife 'I love you' for the first time in a decade. After being unable to do so at their wedding, James now hopes to one day say his wedding vows.

He joins us today alongside his wife Samantha to tell his story of determination.
