Rochelle Humes’ festive tipple: Hot spiced apple juice
It’s the perfect winter warmer - Rochelle’s sharing her festive apple juice recipe, made with ginger, cinnamon and a dash of rum or whisky - take your pick!

Hot spiced apple juice
500 ml/18 fl oz apple juice
1 tsp of grated fresh ginger
2 star anise
1 cinnamon stick
4 tsp rum or whisky (optional)
1. Put the apple juice, ginger, star anise and cinnamon stick in a pan over a medium heat, bring to the boil, then reduce to a simmer,
2. Add the rum or whisky, if using, and leave to cook for 3 minutes to let the flavours develop.
3. Strain the mixture into mugs, picking out the star anise and adding to the mugs also, then serve warm.
