The next celebrity heading to Strictly Come Dancing is...

Get ready for foxtrots and sequins, because Strictly Come Dancing is back! But as the lineup starts to shape up, who else will be strutting their stuff on the dancefloor this year? We'll we've got a scoop to share, as we reveal the next celebrity to waltz over to the ballroom!

The next celebrity heading to the Strictly Come Dancing ballroom is...

Matt Goss!

"I’m so glad I can finally get it off my chest!" says Matt. "I am so excited to get into the dance studio and get to work. It will do wonders for my fitness!”

Matt danced the American Smooth to Winter Wonderland on the Strictly Christmas Special in 2013, so has a little bit of Strictly experience already. “It was only a week I spent preparing for that dance and it was risk free because I wasn’t being judged. The circumstances are very different now that I’m a contestant and I think it’s going to be very tough work. I need to push myself out of my comfort zone more and this is certainly the way to do it.”

Despite playing Hyde Park to 70,000 fans and being the youngest ever male to play Wembley, Matt believes his performance background won’t help him each week when performing for the judges. “I write my own songs and can express myself on stage in a way that feels right for me", says Matt. "But when it comes to dancing, I’m trapped in the choreography and have to be exact and precise. It’s a very different thing to what I’m used to.”

“I’ve spent so long hunched over the guitar or the piano that I've become so stiff and inflexible. I’m terrified that I’ll be asked to do the splits for one of my routines!”

Following the success of his album ‘The Beautiful Unknown’ Matt has three singles coming between now and February, the first of which is ‘Are You Ready?’. “I was so proud that my album was the number one independent album in the country, and was number seven in the overall UK album charts. My music is extremely important to me and I love that I can keep making music.”
