The terrifying truth about being stalked
It starts to directly affect your life to the point that you isolate yourself. It's always the victim changing their behaviour, but the perpetrator seems to continue.
It started with a tweet and ended with a stranger breaking into her bedroom as she slept. Over the weekend, singer Lily Allen revealed the full extent of her seven-year stalking ordeal, confessing it had left her feeling isolated from friends and family, as well as let down by the police.
Lily's story brought back painful memories for Claire Waxman, who endured a 12-year campaign of intimidation and harassment at the hands of a stalker. Claire, who set up voice4victims.co.uk to help other people in the same situation, joins us alongside former Met detective Jacqui Hames, to discuss what more can be done to combat this terrifying crime.
