There’s more of the This Morning family coming to your screens from the end of the month when John Torode and Lisa Faulkner appear in John & Lisa’s Weekend Kitchen.
Today John joins us in the kitchen today to whip up one of his favourite puddings - passion fruit and mango pavlova.
We’ll be tasting that and finding out what we’ve got to look forward to when he and Lisa share their tips, tricks and ideas every Sunday.
Serves: makes about 14
4 large egg whites
185g castor sugar
2 tsp cornflour
1 and a bit tsp of vinegar
a splash of vanilla
For the topping
300ml whipping cream
1 tsp icing sugar
Fruit pulp to decorate and flavour
Preheat oven to 120C or 100C fan. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper
Whisk the egg whites until firm peaks, then slowly add the caster sugar and beat until shiny. Mix together the cornflour, vinegar, vanilla and 1 tbsp boiling water then add to the meringue mixture and beat for a minute.
Dip two large kitchen spoons in boiling water then use to place beautiful quenelles of the meringue mixture onto the lined tray
Bake for 70 – 80 minutes. Take out of the oven and cool - the inside should be like marshmallow and the outside crisp, and crack with the touch of a spoon.
Using a spoon, crack a small hole in the top of the meringue and fill with the cream and yoghurt mixture. Drizzle over the fruit pulp and serve immediately.
