'I'm remortgaging my home to pay for my dog's surgery'

East Yorkshire teacher Nicki Dyson loves her three-year-old Chow Chow Narla so much, she’s raising £20,000 for life saving surgery.

Narla suffers from elbow dysplasia which causes the bones to rub away the protective cartilage, resulting in bone rubbing against bone whenever she walks.

Nicki rescued Narla years ago and wants her four-legged-friend to have the best treatment possible - complex surgery which includes having plastic and metal plates inserted at her elbow joints.

Nicki joins us alongside Narla and Dr Scott Miller to explain more.
