Trevor Fishlock meets the only public official in Wales who proudly boasts he exaggerated the truth to get elected.
The tradition of the “mock mayor” of Llansteffan in Carmarthenshire began in the 19th Century as a wonderful joke to entertain huge numbers of miners who were taking their holidays in the seaside village.
The current holder of the role, Roger Davies, tells Trevor that the winner is chosen by a show of hands after the candidates have made wild promises - such as promising to discover oil along the coast.
Trevor also finds out about the village’s little-explored close links to Dylan Thomas.
And on a walk along the coast to Llanelli he meets someone claiming to be the world’s strongest man and he hears about the German WW2 aircraft which got lost and landed in Wales by mistake.
