John Beecham, a former soldier in the East India Company, arrives at a grand mansion with a baby of mixed parentage who must be kept in hiding.

Episode 2

The arrival of the mysterious Chandrika throws the newly reunited household into chaos and jeopardises breaking the family apart.

Episode 3

A murder throws John's plans of staying in Delhi into jeopardy. A person close within the household reveals his true colours with dangerous consequences.

Episode 4

Just as John thinks all is going well, Chandrika visits his room late at night, witnessed by Violet, who tells all to his mother.

Episode 5

John is shocked to discover that Margaret has left Delhi, but before he can react there is worse news at home.

Episode 6

After several days and nights in the cell, John works out who has betrayed him - meanwhile, Daniel, Margaret and Chandrika desperately try to help him.
