Christmas Day 1961. The men go to see the ladies football team. Ena chokes on a sixpence in her pudding. Dennis spends time with Jed, not knowing that Elsie has prepared a feast for him.

Albert rallies the men for a tug of war between the Rovers and The Flying Horse. Ena plays the piano for a Christmas singsong. Elsie is pensive at the thought of moving to America.

Episode 3

The residents of the Street put on a 1940s show in the Rovers. Elsie realises Alan has a drink problem.

4. Hilda Leaves

Hilda is stunned when all the residents throw a surprise farewell party for her in the Rovers, and Bet presents her with a present.

Jack swears never to drink again. Rita worries about Jenny spending Christmas alone. Ken Barlow has a lot of explaining to do.

Christmas Day. The Duckworth's stage a sit-in at the Rovers. Judy Mallett gives birth to twins. Greg realises that Sally has warned Maxine off him.

Christmas Day. Molly gets Jack to stay for dinner. Maureen makes a surprise return from Germany, causing David to reveal Bill and Audrey's affair. Sarah is furious when a girl arrives at No.11 with a baby she claims is Jason's.
