When some badly mauled sheep carcasses are found and two children are frightened by a mysterious animal in the woods, Nick and Kate become involved.

16. A Winter's Tale

Kate and Nick meet young Danny Parkin, an eight-year-old with TB whose family wants to send him to a Swiss sanatorium but do not have enough money.
