1. A Fresh Start

An infamous London gangster arrives in the area to try and rebuild his life after prison - but Sergeant Miller has other ideas. Peg starts a salmonella outbreak in Aidensfield when her miracle chicken feed scam goes awry.

2. The Devil You Know

Alf goes undercover as a crook and inadvertently uncovers worrying information about Miller's ethics. Lord Ashfordly is looking for a new housekeeper.

3. Miller's Tale

Miller is in hot water when he is suspected of running over a bystander during a police chase. Love is in the air for Gina when she tries out a new hobby.

4. Mastermind

The villagers organise a bus trip to support Rob in the charity football tournament, giving a gang of elderly crooks the chance for one last, spectacular crime spree.

5. Family Ties

Euthanasia is suspected when one of Helen's patients dies unexpectedly, and she and Robert struggle to keep their relationship secret. Peg and David turn their hands to strawberry rustling, but Younger is hot on their trail.

6. The End of the Road

An escaped killer is on the loose, sending waves of panic through the village. Rob is on the case but he finds there is more at stake than he expected when Helen gets caught in the crossfire. David is devastated when Alfred becomes seriously ill.

Miller demands answers from Lord Ashfordly when a Manet is stolen. Peggy tries to convince a pair of bird enthusiasts that Aidensfield is home to a rare bird of prey.

A couple are placed in a financial dilemma. Peggy puts the frighteners on a pair of travelling businessmen. Jack and Gina discover a dead body on the moors.

Relationships and loyalties are tested when a young friend of David's runs away from home, and the Aidensfield Arms plays host to an art exhibition.

10. Burden of Proof

When the local coalman is brutally murdered, Blaketon is horrified to find that he is CID's prime suspect. As the evidence mounts, it is down to the Ashfordly cops to clear his name.

11. Oh Guilty Man

David is frantic when Bernie dramatically vanishes following a newspaper scandal involving dodgy MOT certificates. And there is another spanner in the works when Helen's husband Matthew arrives in Aidensfield determined to stir up trouble for Rob.

12. Auld Acquaintance

The police are on high alert when a mysterious visitor arrives at Ashfordly Hall, and a runaway boy causes trouble in the village. Blaketon and Peggy are at loggerheads once again when a festive conflict of interest results in a Santa showdown.

Peggy is delighted to discover that she is of aristocratic descent. But Lord Ashfordly is finding it difficult to share the enthusiasm of his long-lost cousin.

A local boy with a bad reputation is in hot water after a series of arson attacks in the village. Jack uses his artistic skills when Peggy's scheme creates an eyesore.

A runaway heiress and her gangster boyfriend commit a series of armed robberies in the area as Helen is kidnapped to tend to a gunshot wound. Peggy persuades David to take over the running of the funeral parlour while Bernie is away.

Peggy is quids in when David's new radio picks up police broadcasts - but reporter Neil Downing doesn't share her delight. A QC is the target of mysterious attacks.

17. Get Back

Younger begs Rosie to teach him to drive, and Lord Ashfordly's behaviour changes after eating some of Peggy's mystery mushrooms. A local woman's husband comes back from the grave and tries to reclaim his spouse and livelihood.

18. Runners and Riders

Lord Ashfordly's niece comes to stay after the breakdown of her marriage, but is devastated when her champion horse is stolen and held to ransom.

19. Great Expectations

Local farmer Colin loses all his worldly goods in an auction following his father's death as his estranged brother turns up acting suspiciously.

20. Kith and Kin

Rosie is worried when Bernie becomes the target of a series of mysterious and violent attacks. Helen's world is turned upside-down when a stranger from her past arrives in town.

21. Wine and Roses

Debbie Bellamy is under serious suspicion after a dead body is found in the river and witnesses describe her fleeing the scene. Peggy and David are invaded by hippies, and Rob and Helen attempt to patch things up.

22. This Happy Breed

Miller is delighted when his old army pal arrives in town. Jack gets increasingly jealous of the help and support Gina is giving Bellamy whilst Debbie is away in rehab. Peggy keeps Phil's step-daughters entertained with some coaching in poaching.

23. Keeping Secrets

Helen and Rob's wedding day arrives. The police are called in to deal with persistent noise complaints from a neighbour - but things soon take a nasty turn.

24. The Dying of the Light

A spate of sheep rustling has the police foxed. Helen is called in when an elderly woman is found dead in the river. Peggy picks the brains of two newcomers.
