A visiting conman crashes his car, prompting him to confess to a life of crime. Carol Cassidy visits a terminally ill woman at home - but meets violent resistance.

The return of a convicted rapist to Aidensfield sparks local anger. Rob is surprised when an old flame arrives from CID. Peggy helps an old redcoat pal back on his feet.

3. Intelligence Matters

Ashfordly Police joins CID and British Intelligence in the hunt for a suspected Russian spy. Peggy thinks she has found evidence of a murder and asks David to help her investigate.

Peggy's car is stolen - with Deefer in the boot! Rosie has an unwelcome admirer who won't take no for an answer. Gina persuades Phil to share his feelings.

The big day finally arrives and Aidensfield holds its breath as Gina and Bellamy are set to marry - but will the day pass without a hitch? Snow falls on Aidensfield, but the local council gritter has gone missing, raising concerns for his welfare.
