Series 9

Episode 1

The competition kicks off with the signature dish challenge, with the most successful team getting to enjoy a lunch at the LA Market restaurant where they eat with last season's winner.

Episode 2

The contestants are challenged to cook meat according to Chef Ramsay's instructions. The winning side goes to Palm Springs in a private jet before enjoying lunch in the mountains with Gordon, while the losers are stuck with prepping a cow carcass.

Episode 3

The teams prepare a special meal for 50 children and their mothers. The first team to complete their service wins a trip to a medieval-themed restaurant. The losers are stuck cleaning and preparing for the following evening's dinner service.

Episode 4

Cooking competition with Gordon Ramsay. The teams prepare chicken dishes using only ingredients won in this week's challenge. Mark Spitz is a guest at evening service.

Episode 5

The contestants face an unusual challenge: after seeing an impressive and scientific demonstration by chefs from Moto restaurant in Chicago, the hopefuls have less than an hour to create six dishes using fire and water instead of a normal kitchen.

Episode 6

The chefs are asked to prepare dishes for a reunion for Culver City High School's class of 1991. Two contestants are briefed on the theme and attendees' dietary requirements, and they must pass the information they receive onto their teammates.

Episode 7

The teams are given 45 minutes to prepare five dishes which must contain beer. The contestants who produce the best dishes get to spend a VIP day at the races, while the losers have to deal with the day's deliveries.

Episode 8

The teams are asked to pick leaders - but there is a twist in the selection process. Then they must prepare five dishes, with their efforts to be judged by Wolfgang Puck. The winners spend a day at a comedy club.

Episode 9

The contestants make desserts which could be served at a romantic dinner. The team whose dishes are the best win a luxury trip to Las Vegas, while the losers must do prep work for the upcoming 'date night' dinner service, which includes a raw bar.

Episode 10

The contestants try to prove their knowledge in a blind taste test, with the winning team getting to enjoy a day of horseback riding in the Hollywood Hills. The losers are left in the kitchen, where they peel grapes by hand for the dinner service.

Episode 11

The remaining contestants are sent to New York City to learn about different cuisines and to visit BLT Steak, where the winner will be working. Back at Hell's Kitchen, they must prepare a dish based on what they have learned.

Episode 12

The teams are challenged to cook three dishes each - one that takes 30 minutes to prepare, one that takes 20, and one that takes just 10. The winning side gets to go shopping for designer clothes before dinner service.

Episode 13

The remaining chefs form one team, but must battle it out individually in the challenges. Their first test is to create gourmet versions of five comfort foods, with the winners being sent on a visit to several LA restaurants.

Episode 14

The chefs must each produce a high quality dish with Alaskan salmon. The contestant whose food is judged the best wins a helicopter trip and lunch with Chef Ramsay.

Episode 15

The remaining contestants are challenged to recreate a dish they have tasted - without a recipe. The winning chef receives tickets to a baseball game.

Episode 16

The last two contestants are taken out to lunch by Chef Ramsay. Then they must take part in a challenge which is judged by executives from BLT Steak. At evening service, the eliminated contestants from the series return to help in the kitchen.
