DCI Mathias is called to investigate a brutal attack at an isolated chalet. The victim used to run a children's home - only by unlocking past secrets will Mathias crack the case.

2. Night Music

At a remote farmhouse a photographer's body is found following an anonymous police call. It seems that the reclusive man was a burglary victim, but Mathias thinks otherwise.

3. Penwyllt

High in the hills above Aberystwyth, the body of an unidentified young man is found at the bottom of a lake. But the body is revealed to be a man whom locals seems to have liked.

4. The Girl in the Water

A student's body is found by two boys at the centre of an expanse of marshland. With professional and personal loyalties pushed to the limit, Mathias is on an emotional knife-edge.
