Series 2

Episode 1

After a long breakdown in their friendship, Irene and Vera are reunited at a funeral. Vera takes a nasty tumble dancing at the wake, leaving Irene as her reluctant carer.

Episode 2

Vera moves to a trailer park and falls in with some very suspicious company, while Irene decides that the time is right to go and visit her daughter in Australia.

Irene boasts about her life in Australia, but Vera suspects that Irene may be exaggerating. Meanwhile, Vera's own contentment at the trailer park is disrupted by her daughter.

Episode 4

Vera and Irene both busy themselves raising their granddaughters when their own daughters fail to get involved, then Karen falls pregnant to trailer park heavy Damon.

Episode 5

When Irene's increasing isolation draws her towards composing poems, one of her missives leads the social services to scrutinise Vera's claim for custody of her granddaughter.

Episode 6

Irene finds herself living rough in the Australian outback after being rescued by Vera's daughter Karen. In Blighty, Vera battles with social services for custody of her granddaughter.

Episode 7

Damon has eaten Irene's drugs and thinks he is a dingo, Irene and Karen escape back to the safety of Lesley's house, while Vera offers advice and support from the trailer park.

Episode 8

Vera moves with granddaughter Sabrina from the trailer park to a flat in nearby Candida Court, and Irene looks after Karen's newborn son while Karen and Lesley go clubbing.

Episode 9

Vera is right to suspect that St John the vet is her grandson Nelson's father - the moment he hears the boy may be his, he heads for Australia.

Episode 10

The ladies continue to squabble, but Vera discovers to her delight that St John is wealthy, so moves in with her daughter and soon-to-be son-in-law.
