Series 1

Episode 1

After eight years of war, Julius Caesar has triumphed over the Gauls and looks set to return to Rome. But his soaring popularity is making his co-counsel Pompey Magnus fear that he wants to seize control and return as a dictator.

Episode 2

With tensions between Caesar and Pompey reaching boiling point, a bloody battle outside the Senate pushes the situation over the edge. Soon the leading families of Rome are forced to make a potentially life choice between the two leaders.

Episode 3

As Caesar makes a triumphant return to Rome, a beleaguered Pompey sends his son back to the city to track down the missing treasury gold.

Episode 4

Niobe struggles to keep her terrible secret from Vorenus, little knowing that Pullo has decided to take matters into his own hands. Meanwhile, Caesar offers a humiliated Pompey a truce, but their bloody conflict is far from over.

Episode 5

As Caesar's power spirals out of control Brutus struggles to decide whether or not to attempt an assassination. Meanwhile, Pullo and Vorenus have a devastating parting of ways.

Episode 10

Estranged from Vorenus, a desperate Pullo is drawn into a life of crime, with disastrous consequences. Meanwhile, Servilia puts increasing pressure on Brutus, determined to persuade him to assassinate Caesar.
