Greg comes home to find Britain just as desolate as Holland. Abby continues to look for her son, and finds that not all the gatherings of survivors have altruistic motives. Jenny finds it a challenge to survive on her own.
Abby, Jenny and Greg drive to the nearest large supermarket to stock up on food. While there, they come up against some armed men who are working on Wormley's behalf. The men threaten to shoot them and insist they sign up at the community.
Abby, Jenny and Greg are driving to Abby's home town of Brimpsfield, looking for her son. At a petrol station they find posters for a nearby settlement. They run across settlement members, Charles and Loraine, who have found a young boy, Mick.
While Abby goes to her son's school, Jenny and Greg run across two small children, John and Lizzie, who have been living in the home of John's dead grandmother.
Abby accidentally gets involved in a local war when she picks up a wounded man being chased by a group of armed men. They shoot one of Abby's tyres as she escapes.
An old friend returns along with some new faces to join the gang as they find a place to call home.
Some of the Gang go back to the quarry to pick up whats left of Vic's hoard, only to find out he's still alive.
In celebration the gang have a party. Not being used to the effects of alcohol, things get a little out of hand and the gang vote on a suitable punishment for those at fault.
Two strangers on the run from a possessive merchant fall under the mercy of Abby, Jenny, Greg and the Gang. Trouble ensues as the gang try to protect the strangers.
Vic is struggling to adapt to life of disability in a world where only the strong survive. An old face from the past returns, giving Vic a new reason for living, not necessarily for good reasons.
A visitor spends the night, sneaking off in the morning but not before he notices the tanker full of petrol. Greg and Jenny take the tanker to a neighbouring community to trade while the visitors chase them down.
The group are getting irritable with each other after trading their petrol for some seed which turns bad and a fox killed their chickens. Abby, tired of her role as the leader, talks it over with Jenny, who reveals she is pregnant with Greg's child.
