Series 2

1. Something Blue

The loss of Maggie's husband is slowly being healed by time and her career as a Detective Inspector is proving a success.

2. Decoy

Maggie Forbes is involved in a serious case - a girl has been attacked and raped. There are few clues to help, but two other attacks follow. Maggie decides to act as a decoy and finds herself in great danger.

3. Break-In

There is a burglary at the office of a solicitor who often prosecutes for Maggie's police section. She is asked to deal with it by her boss, DCI Russell, but in doing so she is faced with a highly charged emotional situation.

4. Menaces

Ivor Stocker is a respectable JP and businessman. Out of the blue he receives mysterious phone calls demanding money. Stocker talks over the blackmail threat with his friend DCI Russell and Maggie is directed to handle the case.

5. Hammer

A series of robberies with violence have been reported. All have similar patterns, and all are carried out by women. Maggie and her team are puzzled to know who these women are - or is it one woman in many disguises?

6. Chance

Maggie Forbes spends a frustrating day at the law courts. She feels she would be of much more value to her boss, DCI Russell, if she was employed solving crimes arriving daily on her desk and waiting to be solved.

Maggie is looking forward to a hard-earned weekend off and a long-standing date with Alan Lawson.

9. Shame

A small boy, though savagely beaten up, is reluctant to name his attacker. Det-Insp. Maggie Forbes and Det-Sgt. Jimmy Fenton pursue their inquiries and soon suspect they are dealing with something even more alarming than child cruelty.

10. The Ring

Maggie gets mixed up with a man called Dave Connolly who gives her an expensive antique ring. Barratt later discovers that the ring was stolen from Deeley Street Bank.
