Series 1

Episode 1

A soldier befriends a Franciscan friar. They journey to a remote monastery, where the body of a monk is found. Suspicions arise when a second is discovered.

Episode 2

William and Adso investigate the mysterious deaths, concluding they are the work of a serial killer. A trail leads straight to the infamous library - they devise a plan to break in.

Episode 3

William and Adso manage to escape and begin to decipher Venantius’ message, suspecting a connection to Dolcino. Meanwhile, the papal delegation continues to advance.

Episode 4

Everyone’s anxiety increases as they search for the missing Berengar. Remigio shares his suspicions of Benno with William, claiming a strange connection.

Episode 5

With both parties finally present at the monastery, the meeting is ready to commence. William and Adso sneak into the library once again.

Episode 6

The second session of the summit is about to begin when another corpse is found.

Episode 7

After an intense witch-hunt and trial, Bernard is convinced he has found the killer. However, the death of another monk may prove him wrong.
