Charlie meets his ex-girlfriend Lisa, who he had previously thought he would spend the rest of his life with, and is thrilled to learn that her marriage did not work out.

Charlie writes the theme song for a new cartoon based on one of Jake's favourite comics. Rose invites Alan to a movie and surprises him with her intellect.

Charlie is surprised to learn why a woman who he flirted with in a bar rejected his overtures. She tells him women around town have been comparing notes on him.

Alan is jealous when an old classmate seems more interested in Charlie, in spite of the fact Charlie used to make fun of her. Still, they both want to make a play for her.

When an earthquake damages Judith's home, Alan allows her to move into the beach house temporarily - much to Charlie's displeasure.

The brothers throw out their mother Evelyn after she criticises the way Alan is raising Jake. She also undermines Jake's confidence by belittling his hard-earned high test grade.

When Alan gets apprehensive about an upcoming medical procedure, Charlie convinces him to take a trip to Las Vegas.

Alan finds himself on a blind date with the daughter of his mother's new boyfriend, who is out of rehab for the weekend and a bit of a live wire.

23. Squab, Squab, Squab, Squab, Squab

Evelyn pressures Alan into letting Jake stay with her. Whilst concerned that she will destroy Jake's life, the brothers take him to Evelyn's home - then quickly flee to a bar.

24. Does This Smell Funny to You?

Charlie sleeps with a woman, without realising she is married to an elderly man. At school, Jake has to give a report about his weekend - and recalls his own version of events.
