Shan Ako

Shan Ako

Shan Ako has been impressing with her X Factor auditions so far, and now she's made it to Live Shows she doesn't plan to stop here!

Shan is 25 years old and lives in Croydon. She works as a session singer having attended the Brit School, as well as getting a First Class Honours in music Business and Management at Middlesex University. She considered working behind the scenes in the music industry but quickly realised it was on the stage where she belonged. "I tried a 9-5 PR job, but I hated it. I wanted to be performing as that's what makes me happy."

She considered her faith to be an important part of Shan's life, and singing in church gave her an outlet to perform. She wants her faith to be a positive influence to others. "I believe in God and that we’re all called to make the most of life by loving and helping each other, and I hope to share that message on the show.”

Living with her mum and little brother, Bella is a musical theatre teacher and hotel singer. She calls herself a split personality musically, with half of her loving house and rave music, and the other a fan of jazz.

She says her Gran is her biggest inspiration, and has promised that when she makes it big as a singer they'll live together on Sunset Boulevard. At the age of 16 he won Jamaican talent show Digicel Rising Stars, giving him a brief career in his home country and getting to number one in the Jamaican reggae charts. However the genre was not something he wanted to pursue, and he now hopes a shot at The X Factor crown will allow him to achieve his dreams on his terms.

Molly is 16 years old and lives with her family in County Durham. Her mum is a teaching assistant and her dad is a dispatch engineer. She also has a brother who is currently serving with the British Army. She has been singing since the age of six, and calls it her "happy place".

She says her biggest inspiration is her Nana Lorna, who dreamt of becoming a teacher when she had her daughter - Molly's mum - aged 19, before achieving that dream and qualifying aged 45. Molly is adamant that singing is what she wants to do with her life, and she "wants to show people I'm good enough to do only this." Although if that doesn't work out she does have a backup plan: "I'd be an accountant. I think it's open and stable!"
